About the event

You are invited to a networking event with Women GAIN Rwanda - a local Rwandan NGO formed out of a project called Intwari Women, first organized by Global GAIN.  We're gathering to network and celebrate women's history month - and sharing information about our organization. We're only doing informal activities while our application is pending. We'll plan a more formal launch when we receive registration approval from RGB.

GAIN is an acronym for Gender Advocacy, Initiatives, and Network which defines our mission and programs. Women GAIN Rwanda will promote women and girls' participation in public service, leadership spaces, and decision-making processes and will teach them to become community leaders, public servants, and global citizens. Our initiatives include the following:

  • Training & Learning: Professional & civic leadership, feminism & gender advocacy, democracy and public policy, communications, program development, and digital skills.
  • Networking & Partnerships: sustainable, intergenerational, intersectional activist network focused on young women's leadership online and in-person.
  • Event Organizing and Hosting: Building our creative space for more women-led initiatives and cultural & artistic programs.
  • Storytelling, communications, and media:  Digital storytelling and content creation on social networking channels, newsletters, and blogs.

We aspire to inspire young women to be gender advocates, feminists, community activists, public leaders, and global citizens. We lift other women and allied organizations that inspire our work through our communications channels.  Our home, at Kiyovu Compound, is creating a co-living, co-working, retreat, and event space. We're creating space to host others who want to build culture and community, work and perform, practice yoga and wellness, and appreciate the natural beauty of our environment.

We encourage you to attend to learn more about Women GAIN's vision and plans and to network with others.  Please share this invite with others you think may be interested in the mission, vision, network, and programs.
